Shari Diamond (born 1961) is a queer American feminist photographic artist and educator. They were born in Miami Beach, Florida and earned an M.A. in Photography from New York University /International Center of Photography. They currently live and work in New York City and Newburgh, New York.

 

Diamond’s art practice is an investigation into topics ranging from borders and boundaries, sexuality, gender, immortality, and impermanence to human relations. Narrative is a constant thread throughout their work, speaking to larger political conditions rooted in personal experience of difference.

 

Diamond’s work is in the permanent collection of the Leslie Lohman Museum of Art, private collections, and has been shown in numerous venues in the U.S. and in Mexico, Israel, and Japan. They are a two-time recipient of a NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship in Photography and was awarded residencies at Blue Mountain Center, Saltonstall Arts Colony, and the Millay Colony for the Arts.
